Happy New Year guys! We’re technically in the 4th week already. 2018 is already going by pretty quickly.

20180117_214518.pngA friend posted this picture on Instagram on January 1st and I was amused because I can certainly identify with that sentiment. Although I don’t typically make New Year’s resolutions, every now and then I will, hoping I will be able to stick to them but alas it’s just not meant to be. So last year, I tried a different tactic and decided to think of it as the goals I wanted to achieve that year. I even had them categorized (for e.g. career, personal, travel etc) and then 2 months into the year my life changed drastically and most of those goals when out the window, not intentionally. Life kinda just happened and I was too busy trying to figure out the day to day that I didn’t feel like I could think long term.

So as last year ended, I thought long and hard about whether I wanted to write down anything – goals, resolutions, whatever you want to call it. Truth be told, a big part of me didn’t want to because I was afraid that I would disappoint myself again and not be able to accomplish even a fraction of the things I would love to be able to do and accomplish this year. Fortunately, or unfortunately, I got busy with my best friend’s wedding and trying to find my place at work that it was so easy to just let the year end without putting anything on paper. And since this year began, I haven’t really made time to sit and figure out what I want to do this year. I have some ideas, but I think I’m going to use this first month to figure all of that out and then start working towards them starting next month. And once I have that I’ll share it with you guys. But, what I do know is I want to make memories and celebrate the little moments in life. I know I have a lot to be thankful for no matter how uncertain or crazy life gets sometimes.

Did you make any resolutions/do you have any goals for the new year? How is it going so far? Please share them with me. I would love to know, maybe we can help keep each other accountable 😊
